30?!?!

A free meal is always a win. Especially if it's from Le Peep! They just opened up next door to my work and we all got coupons for a free entree:

Yum-o
Even if they forgot my salad dressing and gave me warm salsa instead. You can't beat free!

Until next time...

"I'm not cool, but that's okay. My God loves me anyway" - Chris Rice
Some days I feel like that could be my theme song. But today, my friends, I got a whole lot cooler!

Oh... can it be?
Yes. I now own Silly Bandz.

Thanks to Stacie and her daughter Emily
Okay, though, for real. I'm still not that cool. Thankfully Jesus thinks I'm pretty tight. :)

Until next time...

28 Days Later...

I see dead people. Actually, that's a lie. But I do see numbers. Lots of them, and they haunt me all the same!

I have two screens at work. It usually looks something like this:

Nonsense
And usually my eyes are bleeding by 5 o'clock. Now you know. =)

Day 27

Today is dedicated to awesome car dealerships:

And here we have your ordinary run of the mill Mustang.

Except:
It's from Waukesha!!
That's right my friends. This Mustang was purchased just down the street from where my bff Nina lives! =D

And I got a chuckle out of this car:
Okay, look a little closer... a little more... do ya see it? A little bit more... THERE IT IS:

Not Nu

Who knew you could expect such honesty from a dealership on Prospect in KC?

Until next time...

26 days...

Wow today was busy. One of the more relaxing moments of the day was this:

Chillin with Willa
She is such a sweetheart. I got to hold her for a while as she snoozed. And she kept her nose buried deep in my arm pit. Perhaps she enjoyed the warmth or perhaps the scent of my deodorant. Either way, no complaints here! :)

Until next time!

25

Today we celebrated Emmitt's 4th birthday and Katie's 7th! Holy cow. When did they get this big? We had lots of fun with the family and got lots of pictures!

Emmitt's Dinosaur cake that grandma made him.
Okay, I just thought this was cute!
We played lots with bubbles.
We had quite and eventful birthday party and I think everyone had a good time, the gifts were enjoyed and the dinosaur cake was devoured (thanks Grandma Kare-Bare for that one!)

Until next time...

24 days

I walked into work today and saw my co-worker Stacie, and guess what?! She's apparently stalking me. For like the 3rd time this week, we were wearing the same thing!!

Creepy.

It's okay though. She's the Reba to my Kelly. And if she wasn't there. Well, let's face it, I wouldn't there either. Nor would my sanity! Laughter makes the days go by faster.
And today, in response to yesterday's broke down gas man, we co-wrote a song:

I’m singin the broke down gas man bluuuuuues….
La la la la la, ooooooooohhhhhhh….. She got the broke down gas man blues…
Ooooooh I woke up this morning….stole a little girls coat…
I went to to my gas pump… I’s so broke down and beat…
 All cause I never…learned how to conacatenate…
Ooooohhh She got the blues…. The broke down gas man blues…

 We're awesome.
Until Next Time...

Day 23

What the world is this?:
Broke down gas man
So I see this little gas man everyday when I go to fill up on coffee and always wondered what it was about. NTA is one of the mother companies, and I always thought this was a weird way to advertise your business. Does a sad old gas attendant at a trashy broke down station represent what this company is and show it's success? Weird. I've seen these other places, some of the execs have them in their offices. Stacie an I usually just laugh and pose like this:

to describe our broke down-ness in this job. So, today it got the best of me and I walked into my bosses office and said, 'I have a question. What in the world is the odd gas man statue about?!?' She just laughed and said that the owner had them made for all of the executives a couple of years ago. Neither of us could figure out the symbolism of the gas man, and it just may always remain a mystery.

11 x 2

It is not uncommon to see police or other emergency vehicles outside of our house. Well, not so much outside of our house as outside of our neighbor's houses. Today I came home to two police cars in front of my house. I made myself known by getting the mail... apparently they did not need to question me. Sad... I kind of wanted to chat with them. You know... give them my number... in case they would need to question me further. Alas, I was forced to just stalk them from behind the blinds! ;)

Hello Mr. Police Officers!

Stay out of trouble kids! And remember,

Until next time...

20th

So today I took a page out of my friend Sarah's book. I took this lovely bag of books to half priced bookstore to sell:

I expected to get about $.50 but was presently surprised at my earnings:

Eleven Buckaroos!!

Looks like a party up in hur! Or perhaps I'll splurge on some mouse traps. More on that to follow, I'm sure!

Until next time...

1-9

Today was a day of cleaning and moving and somewhat packing (or prepping to anyway). And since our dishwasher hasn't been working for a few weeks now, this is what tends to happen:

Ew.

And then we go crazy. And finally clean. Now:

Much better

I can sleep peacefully tonight. :)

Until next time!

And on the 18th day...

You know it's going to be a good day when you start it off by sleeping in!! Today was nice and relaxing... so let's begin:

In the trolley shuttle

Kodi and I decided to check out the Hidden Glen Art Festival here in Olathe. Neither of us had been before and were curious how it would compare to the art festival we went to in Haliewa Hawaii. Hmm... I want to say it was definately hotter at this one! And things were much more expensive here. We didn't stay too long, but we did get free reusable grocery bags! Yey!

Thought these were cool. Surprised?

And I had to snap a pic of Kodi buying popcorn from the Nazi Boy Scouts!! ;)

Until next time...

Day 17- You've got mail!

TGIF!

Oh my word! What a week! I'm so glad that it's friday but also that I got mail! :) I got a letter from Nina today, just because! She is so creative, not only did she paint this:

But she also created the evelope!:

Thanks Nina! :)

And because my week was pretty boring, pictorially speaking, you get a bonus picture:

And here we have what is known to some as 'white trash' in it's natural habitat: my neighborhood! ;)
I was sitting on the couch when I heard the squeal of brakes promptly followed by some 'fightin words'. I peeked out the window and saw that the lady and gentleman in the car were out in the middle of the street yelling at each other... by the time I grabbed my camera they were back in the car. It was probably the second highlight of my day (after the card of course!) Although, I did see an R.O.U.S on the side of the road, and sang 'Hark the herald angels sing' with Jen at work today... I didn't consider those...

Sweet 16

The sorting, cleaning, purging part of packing has begun. Piles of clothes (minus some unmentionables!)

PTL-tomorrow is the start of the weekend! For many reasons! But mostly so I can have something somewhat interesting to share! ;)

Until next time...

I saw this on my way to work:

Is there really that big of a geese problem that someone can make their living by keeping them out of those silly lakes you see at apartments? I love how they need dogs and a kayak for this!

At first I thought of the crazy cat guy at work and then I thought of Sarah B. :) Here's to you, friend! ;) I saw this on the way home from work:

Lucky #13

I saw this on my way home from work today. It is one of those 'I heart my wife' bumper stickers. What do you think? Divorced?

So... This part is not family friendly. So if you are under 17... go away. Some friends of ours asked Kodi if she could stitch up this body pillow for them since she is practically running a mending service now. This pillow grosses me out and here's why: It looks like its just covered in pubic hairs!!! Ssoooo nasty!!! I can hardly look at it and adamantly refuse to touch it! So I came home from work today and low and behold... guess what's in my bed?!?! Aaaaahhhhhh!!!!! Ew... the pub-illow!! It took me a while but i finally grabbed it with a blanket (Kodi's, not mine!) and threw it on a chair in the dining room. So gross... I immediately texted Kodi to tell her to watch her back and she has something special coming her way....

And since my wonderful roommate is terrified of Jack Nicholson (Thanks to this scene from 'The Shining') I knew just how to get my revenge! I printed out this lovely picture and taped it in her closet with the door open just enough for Jacky to be sticking his head out. And I waited. Bwahahaha... She got home from her meeting and assumed that I put something in her bed so was looking around her room and didn't see anything. When she went to hang some clothes up... well... she found him! ;) She will probably have nightmares tonight. And I won't be able to sleep because I'll be wondering if the pub-illow shed in my bed. Yuck!!

And Last but certainly not least is Bekah!! This is from our mentor time at Starbucks tonight. We meet nearly every Monday night at the same starbucks and have come to know our baristas pretty well over the last few months while there. So this is my typical monday night (more so than the above pictures!) :)

Until next time... REDRUM REDRUM REDRUM!!! =D

Untitled

"And dance with all your might, lift up your hands and clap for joy. The time's drawing near when He will appear. And oh, we will stand by His side, a strong, pure, spotless bride"

Those were the words of one of the new songs we sang at church today. It was a really awesome service of celebration. A wedding banquet! We've been discussing communion for a few weeks now and today was our final message on it. We celebrated as the first body of believers did when
celebrating communion. Not a mournful, reflective type ceremony, but one of a joyous, celebratory nature. We are the bride and He is our bridegroom! What a beautiful picture of his love for us. And as a bride would wait for her groom to come for her after preparing a place for her, we too, await the arrival of our bridegroom as he prepares our heavenly home for us. Such a beautiful love story! So this is a picture of communion being shared at one of the tables. :)

And as a follow up to yesterday's blog, I thought it would be appropriate to tell of how I was accosted by the Nazi Boy Scouts today. I went to Hyvee this afternoon and even before I got to the door I could see the swarm of boy scouts eyeing me from just inside. I heard one boy say 'oh, here's our next one(victim!).' Upon the doors opening I found multiple bags and boxes of popcorn thrust into my face and heard a chorus of young boys' confused sales pitches. I was a little overwhelmed by all of the commotion and hastily withdrew a dollar to purchase 1 bag (yes, just one lonely bag) of popcorn and got the heck out of Dodge!! Whew. Steer clear of those boy scouts!!

Hasta la próxima vez ... :)

XI

What a fine Saturday today was. I started it out with my family at the Old Settlers parade. I think this years theme was rock n roll... nearly every other float had an Elvis impersonator on it! I'm sure, though, that all of them were MILES better than last weekend's impersonator! So the picture that I chose from the parade is this one:

I'm not certain, but I believe Uncle Sam is now a Nazi? And taking all of the boy scouts down with him!

Up next is just a quick shot of worship team practice. I enjoy being on worship team a lot. Practice is sometimes my favorite time. Just jammin with the band and the worship is fresh in your heart. Good times!

And finally, I went with my roomie and her parents to go see John Reep, the winner of 'Last Comic Standing' and of 'is that a hemi?' Dodge commercials. FUNNY!! Oh my word... My face and guts hurt from laughing so much!! Hope your day was enjoyable too!

Until Next time...

Day 10... a boring day indeed!

It's that time again. Old settlers... this was about as close as I got. I walked down there thinking I would get some dinner. But as soon as I got there I was overwhelmed by the number of people and the idea that I might actually see someone I knew and be forced to hold a conversation with them. So I promptly left! :) Maybe tomorrow I'll be a little more brave.

I just thought that this was funny... one of the potties had a sticker designating it as a women's potty. But there wasn't one for men... I guess there were some trees nearby...

Until next time...

nineth

Happy Thursday! Poison chair. It's the name of the game. You don't want to touch the chair or you're out. It gets pretty intense when you are trying to whip someone around to make them bump the chair. Turns out... I'm pretty good at this game. I took 3rd in the second game, but to be fair I was in the running with Alec and Ben. (BTW-In case you couldn't tell, I'm the grey shirted person in the center) We had some fun playing this game before getting started at TREK tonight. So far, I'm really enjoying this group, and I'm really looking forward to this year! :)

Until next time...

8

So If you thought this blog was boring... well... today won't disprove that. :) Nothing really noteworthy today. Work, home, couch time! I did make some rice crispy treats for TREK for tomorrow, but was in a hurry to start our movie and forgot to snag a picture of the process so this is what I'm doing while I type this:

Watching Shutter Island. I'm probably going to have nightmares. Oh well. Oh Leonardo...
I loved you from the moment you stepped onto the Titanic.

:) Until next time...

Siete! Sieben! ! şapte!

So today was a pretty normal day. So I decided to post some normal boring pictures...

And Here I am at Midas getting my oil changed... Trust the Midas touch!

And reading from this magazine... Can this marriage be saved? I believe so!!! I'll probably never know though for sure because they were done so fast that I didn't have time to finish the article!

Okay, I lied. I included one slightly interesting picture. Kodi and I went for a walk tonight because it was just too nice to sit at home and watch tv! We walked down to the Calamity Line Park that is just down the street from our house and a little silliness ensued:

Until next time!

Another day (day 6)

Today was a mostly relaxing day, I didn't do too much. Watched some movies, read my book, and went for a leisurely drive with Kodi. We drove through some disgustingly wealthy neighborhoods and gawked at their massive homes while wondering what they did for a living. We ended up in Shawnee Mission Park and climbed the observation tower. It was already super windy today but being on top of that tower was incredibly more so. The tower was definitely moving with the wind. So here is my pic from atop the tower:

And for just a little inspiration of the day, someone had written this at the top and I kind of liked this:

Yes... I think I shall...

Day Cinco

Today Kodi and I decided to try out Santa-Cali-Gon days in Independence. Neither of us had been there before and we saw that there was going to be a root beer chugging contest, um, heck yes! Sign us up!

I placed 10th! ...out of 10... :) But it was okay. Free Root Beer! The first cup went down pretty fast but as I started in on the second, I knew I was a goner... I could either just go for it and barf later (like some little girl did before us, right in front of us... and some splatter made it on my foot) or just enjoy the free root beer and be okay with last place. I obviously chose the latter. But it was fun, and now I can officially say I have participated in a root beer chugging contest! :) BTW- The big guy at the end of the table won. He drank 5 cups in 60 seconds!! Yuck!

Once again, we get two photos today! We saw some really interesting things while there. I'm pretty sure that the words 'festival' or 'fair' really means 'let the crazies out'. Besides the horrible Elvis impersonator that we saw and heard (He calls himself E2 and I'm pretty sure he thought he was God's greatest gift) we also saw this ----->
I don't know if you can tell, but that ain't no baby in the stroller... that's definitely a dog! Really? It's one thing to bring your obnoxious, spoiled dog out to a crowded place like this, but in a stroller?!? People! What have we come to!?! So I in-conspicuously snapped a picture with my phone to share with the world. Or at least those that read this. :) Until next time...
